Create a Book for Anniversary

Since I started dating my wife in 11th grade, we have been through MANY anniversaries and birthdays with barely enough money for a candle lit ramen noodle lunch at times (candles were too expensive!).  Because of this, I have become much more creative with our gifts than I ever thought.  One of my most successful gifts only cost me about $20 in printing costs but was “The most thoughtful thing ever!”, according to my wife.

I had our story put into book form.  We have a million inside jokes and funny stories that got us to where we are today.  I just took those and wrote a story about 2 moose (our animal,… yes,… we have a mascot) and how they met and fell in love.  I took pictures of moose and photoshopped them in different situations and even a few real pictures of our first house etc.  I then took the files to staples and had them bind them into a book.  I was a bit embarrassed when handing over the jump drive, but the lady behind the desk understood the sentiment at least as she was laughing.

Take Action Today

Either draw, photoshop, or take real pictures from your relationship and tell your story.  Be as goofy or sweet as you want, but make sure to pay attention to the details of your relationship.  Write a fun story line and then take them to a printer.  I did mine in photoshop, but the easiest way to do this is in Microsoft Word in the standard 8.5 x 11 size.  Then just take the file to Staples, a local printer, Kinkos etc. and have them bind it for you.  It won’t cost you much time or money, but will blow her away!
